“Our sex life totally changed when we found out we needed to do IVF/PGD to avoid the BRCA gene”

One of the things we hear over and over again is about the struggles many of you are experiencing about intimacy.

Infertility and loss can change so many aspects about a relationship and sex is just one of them. We hear lots of stories about men not being able to perform after being given a diagnosis of male infertility, we hear stories of women finding it harder to connect with their spouse once fertility treatments are necessary and so much more.

Here’s what one woman had to say:

“Our sex life totally changed when we found out we needed to do IVF/PGD to avoid the BRCA gene. Before we knew, we hadn’t started trying for a baby yet and our sex life was so full of joy and comfort and excitement, just how I imagined it would be for a newly married couple, because in my mind we were making love and practicing for when we would make a baby.

Once I understood that our sex would have nothing to do with conception, I lost almost all interest. I can see how hard it is on him and he’s so so patient, but I feel like I lost something I didn’t realize I could ever lose.”
