Nice Texts You Could Send Someone Going Through a Rough Time

One of the questions I get asked the most is “How can I support my loved ones through infertility or loss?”

The good news is there are so many ways to show up for those in need! From sending a care package to checking in with a text.

You may want to reach out but you are not sure what to say…

You don’t want to say something wrong. And it seems silly to ask “Are you okay?” Because you know they are not ok…

Here are some examples of texts you can send to someone who is going through a rough time. Most importantly, just keep being there for them and let them know you are thinking of them.

  1. “No pressure to reply right now. I just want to let you know that I'm thinking of you and I'm always here for you...if or when you are ready to talk."

  2. “Just in case you’re feeling bad for not replying to texts or going out these days, please don't.

I know you are going through a rough time. I see you.”

  3. "I totally understand if you aren't up for coming to the bris tomorrow. I love you no matter what you decide to do. I just hope you take care of you."

  4. “Just wanted to remind you that in the dark moments when you feel like your life is falling apart and you’ll never be happy again your brain is lying to you.

  5. “It’s okay to take time for yourself. I have sensed that you’ve been withdrawing. You’ve got a lot going on and it’s important to prioritize your mental health.”

  6. "I know these past few weeks have been hard. If you want to just have a

low-key shabbat meal just us this weekend, I am down!"

  7. "I'm thinking of you and hoping you found a way to survive the new year. If there is anything I can do to make things more manageable, please let me know."

  8. "We can go for a walk and talk any time; or we can walk and not talk; or you can talk and I'll just listen. I know things have been hard lately and just want you to know that I am here for you.”
