Other’s Coping Mechanisms

Positivity is not all bad.

And we'll go even a little bit further than that - sometimes the only way out is to bring in some of the positivity because you're not ready to handle the heaviness of it all. Or, it's the wrong setting to let your true feelings be known, so you exude sunshine when you really feel like dying inside. Or maybe you are a unicorn who really does see only the good, and attributes your pain to the category of "G-d knows what's best for me. Ein od Milvado (there is nothing except for Him)."

We shouldn't judge people's responses to pain from what they are choosing to show to the world.

But...
(and here's the big "but" - you knew it was coming!)

Just make sure that you're processing in a healthy way and not misappropriating religious or spiritual idioms as a way to shut off your emotions.

And don't judge others who can't access positivity at all during their journey through pain. Just because it works for you, doesn't mean that it will speak to everyone.

As always - be kind.
