Keeping It Together

Isn’t this the essence of any struggle, especially during the holidays?

You can only keep it together for so long. You need a place to be able to let it all out - a space that feels warm and nurturing and cozy.

•Maybe that means that you’re going to family for the holiday, but you have your own room to hide when things get rough.

•Maybe that means that you spend the holiday away from everyone you know because it’s easier to pretend with strangers.

•Maybe that means you get out in nature as much as possible, in order to drown out all the noise.

•Maybe that means you get some really good reading material or other distractions so you don’t have to think about the heaviness of the day.

Remember- it’s about balance. Do the things that feel like obligations, but make sure that you have an opportunity to recharge as well. Be mindful and plan for those too.

Because fake smiling for too long is just untenable.

Especially now.
