Why Won't You Come A poem by Laja Liwska

“Why won't you come to me

Why am I left so empty

The desperate cries my soul makes out for you

Echo on plush velvety barren walls

I crave to hold you in my arms

To peer into your sweet little eyes

I have made ready for you my love

I have been battling for you

Slaying demons passed down on high

From generations of abuse and neglect

Breaking chains and breaking cycles

For you

Why won't you come

I have mothered myself

I have mothered my own mother

I have spent my life bartering with the moon

But she keeps me in her time

But why should she be so full

When I am left so empty.”
