There is Still Darkness

As we enter into the holiday of Chanukah, the holiday of light, let’s acknowledge that there is still darkness.

There is infertility.

There is loss.

There is still a crisis overseas.

There are still hostages.

There is fear, anxiety, grief, and sadness.

And it doesn’t go away just because the calendar says so. Yet, we try to find the light even through the darkness.

And if we can’t find the light, we try to be the light.

Light and dark can coexist.

They both have their place in our lives. Chanukah is about holding space for the darkness while seeking and hoping for the light.
