Male Factor Infertility—A Personal Perspective

“Our issue having children is due to male factor infertility. I'm having a really hard time right now because I have one baby through IVF and that’s all. I can’t even picture going through it again at this point. Right now I'm just left feeling very alone. All fertility forums are mainly focused on pregnancy loss, primary or secondary infertility. What if I don’t fit in any of these? I don’t even have fertility problems! I’m just a wife of someone with issues and can’t have children naturally. I feel like my situation is never discussed and I can’t find any support anywhere. Even though I have one child, which I’m super grateful for, I feel very alone.”

Male factor infertility is quite common (some report it as high as 40-50%) of all infertility cases, yet it’s not discussed much in the support space.
