Termination For Medical Reasons Is Not Uncommon

May 4th, is National Termination for Medical Reasons (TFMR) Awareness Day.

TFMR is THREE TIMES (3x!!!!) more common than stillbirth and infant death COMBINED.

This affects people just like anyone who has been through any other kind of pregnancy loss, like miscarriage, stillbirth, ectopic, infant loss, molar and partial molar pregnancy, etc.

TFMR (termination for medical reasons - needing to end a wanted pregnancy for health reasons of either the mother or the fetus) is NOT an uncommon pregnancy loss - It is just UNCOMMONLY TALKED about…WHY?

Mostly because of the fear of what people will say…on so many levels.

“The anti-choice side thinks that I am a ‘monster for ‘killing’ my baby, and the pro-choice side calls my baby a ‘lump of cells’ and says that I shouldn’t feel grief.”

(Language above taken mostly from @thetfmrdoula)

For those of you who are considering this, or have been through a TFMR, we see you and we support you. We also have a FREE monthly peer-to-peer support group for TFMR ❤️‍🩹
