Why didn’t they tell me?

@my_so_called_ivf has been talking about all the things she wishes she knew before embarking on her fertility journey. It spurred some very interesting comments in Stories (go take a look), but this one made me angry too.

We need to do better.

From a follower: “I’ve always said, I wish I knew more about amh/fsh when I maybe could have banked some eggs, when I was single and making money, and maybe able to bank. I had no idea that my reserve was low, AND I had been going to a GYN since I’m 12! Every single one of those doctors said I should have no issue getting pregnant.

Fast forward to me being 28, and finding out I have very low amh and very high fsh. Why didn’t any GYN check those levels throughout all my years going?!!

I was so angry.”
