Being Single and Circumstantial Infertility

We get messages from all over the world, telling us that this work here is valuable. Many say that they have been unable to find a group as supportive in their own city or country and this space has validated their fears, their pain and their journey to have a child.

One thing we did not expect was how far-reaching the topics here would be. We assumed that the struggle to have a child is one that is usually embarked upon after reaching a certain stage in life, or a certain stage in your relationship.

And yet, even those who are not on the path to parenthood have found resonance here.

❤️“Thank you so much for sharing this woman’s personal experience. Even though my journey is different (I’m single), I can still really relate to the uncomfortable feelings of not wanting to be pitied and also feeling guilty if things don’t seem to be panning out in the ideal outcome.”

❤️“I know that I’m not your ideal audience because I’m not even thinking about having kids yet, but I learn so much from being here. How to take care of myself, how to not be put off by relatives prying into my life, etc.”

❤️“My boyfriend just broke up with me and with him went my hopes for starting a family. We had been talking about it and did some preliminary testing (I have a known condition). And now, I’m feeling this sense of loss and grief. Thank you for validating that.”

So even if you’re not on the traditional road to having a child, please know that you are always welcome here. ❤️
