Pregnant For One Week

“I was pregnant for 7 days and 7 nights.

After doing my one billionth cycle of IVF, I had my first positive HCG.
After 42 and a half years I was finally pregnant.

For one week I was pregnant.

I got to go to sleep 7 times and wake up 7 times and be pregnant. I got to be a mommy for 7 days.

And then after 7 days, HCG dropped and the pregnancy was gone.

One week.

I had the best week of my life.

The best.

42 and a half years I've never had a week like this.

What a level of pure, pure simcha (happiness) my husband and I had. One that can't be described.

I don't know about the rest of you, but for one week in our house Mashiach (the messiah) came.

One week.

And now it's gone.

I am not pregnant anymore.

I am not a mommy anymore.”
