Emotions Before, During and After Egg Freezing

As we talk to more and more of you about the egg freezing process, these are some of the emotions that are coming up for people.

Some others not in the graphic:

  • Lonely - will my parents/family understand and support my choice to do this?

  • Anxious - what if I have the eggs and don't find a partner? What will I do with those eggs? Do I even want to entertain being a single mother?

  • Hopeful and Empowered - now I don't feel the pressure to "settle" and just get married for the sake of having children. I feel like I have choice back.

And this is without mentioning all the emotions that can be side effects of the medications:

  • Depressed

  • Anxious

  • Irritable

  • More likely to cry

  • Quicker to react to emotional triggers
