Director of Programming (part-time)
I Was Supposed to Have a Baby (IWSTHAB) connects people from all over the globe struggling to have a child. We are seeking a Director of Programming to lead and grow our programs, ensuring alignment with our mission and strategic goals. This is an opportunity to expand IWSTHAB’s impact, bring empathy and innovation to our work, and support thousands of people in need.
About the Role:
This is a fully remote, part-time position (~20 hours/week, .5 FTE) with flexible hours
Core working hours are Monday–Thursday, 11am–2pm ET, during which team members should generally be available for meetings at least three days per week
The position reports to the Founder/Executive Director.
Responsibilities:
Program Development and Oversight:
Design, implement, and refine innovative programs and services that address community needs
Build partnerships within the fertility and Jewish communities, including planning and executing collaborative summits, trainings, and events
Collaborate on social media strategy and content creation, working closely with the team to research, refine, and translate ideas into impactful, shareable bites that align with organizational goals and amplify the mission
Serve as a thought partner for digital communications, including identifying opportunities for podcasts, trainings, and digital initiatives
Plan and facilitate staff retreats and team meetings
Leadership and Team Management:
Partner with the Executive Director, Development Director, and IWSTHAB Board on strategic planning
Manage project timelines, foster collaboration, and ensure tasks are completed
Evaluation and Reporting:
Develop surveys and feedback tools to assess program impact
Enhance metrics and systems to evaluate success
Provide detailed reports for leadership, funders, and stakeholders
About You:
Alignment with IWSTHAB’s values of kindness, warmth, and belonging
A deep understanding of the fertility space, gained through personal or professional experience
Background in mental health or experience addressing sensitive inquiries, with the ability to bring empathy and insight to the community's unique needs
Nonprofit programming experience, ideally within the Jewish community
Proven skills in planning, project management, and strategic thinking
Ability to effectively lead meetings and facilitate strategic planning sessions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and fostering team collaboration
Strong communication skills, including clear writing and empathetic listening
Dynamic and skilled at crafting programming that grabs attention and sparks interaction
Proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, Zoom, and remote collaboration tools
Comfort working remotely with a geographically dispersed team

Compensation, Benefits, and Start Date:
Salary: $30,000-$50,000 a year, commensurate with experience

Discretionary (unlimited) paid time off policy; paid time off for Jewish and national holidays, bereavement, and adoption of a new pet
Paid Family and Medical Leave: all employees who work 20+ hours per week are eligible for 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave
