Counting

“Six weeks
Six weeks since my lifeless fetus was removed from uterus.

42 days
42 days since my dreams and hopes were ripped from heart. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1,008 hours
1,008 hours of tears and sadness and grief. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
60,480 minutes
60,480 minutes to question why? How come? When will this end?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3,628,800 seconds
3,628,800 seconds of sleepless nights, nightmares and loneliness. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
AND ALSO
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
6 weeks
6 weeks of love and connection with my husband. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
42 days
42 days to start a new chapter in our life. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1,008 hours
1,008 hours to realize yes, I’m ready to try again, even if that means we need to start IVF again. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
60,480 minutes
60,480 minutes of seeing Hashem (G-d) pick me up and clear the path for me.

3,628,800 seconds
3,628,800 seconds to see life goes on after loss.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m not alone.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Starting on the second night of Passover, we count 7 weeks/49 days with baited breath, until we receive the Torah (Old Testament) on the Shavuos/Shavuot.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We count each day, starting from 1 all the way until 49, the numbers rising higher and higher, echoing our excitement to finally reach that milestone.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When we get pregnant, we also count.
9 months until the baby is born.
Each day, each week, each month is a milestone.
First trimester.
Second trimester.
Third trimester.
Due date.
Overdue.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My wish for all of you is that just like the Jews counted in the desert, waiting with baited breath, to finally get a glimpse of the Torah, may all of you be able to count your own nine months very soon, and may they be healthy ones that lead to a baby in your arms.
